Agency means representing yourself, but that doesn’t mean you have to go it alone.
TOGETHER IS BETTER

What is Agency Press? Well first of all, it’s not a press! It’s more like a mutual aid society or club. Expand this segment to read more.
Members of the Agency Press Collective are indie authors who help each other with the details – working together to market our books, manage our web presence, keep in touch with readers, and generally share the (publishing and marketing) workload so that we can all be more productive writers, which is really why we’re here. Traditional publishing is so often about who you know. And the nuts and bolts stuff can be a pain. We help each other to lessen that burden. At this time, most of our writers live and work in the province of New Brunswick, Canada and we are committed to advancing and aiding NB voices. (And it’s okay if you ‘come from away’.) Jen Selk is our organizer, web designer, and real-world representative. Expect to hear from our other writers in the Agency Press newsletter and elsewhere online via their own varied social media channels.
BOOKS COMING SOON
Byrdfyre Book One: July 17, 2025
Jörð forgive and protect my little Byrd, should she cling to the earth…
In the late Middle Ages, the Black Plague devoured half the population of Europe, arriving in Norway via a “ghost ship” that was entirely unmanned. After the pestilence burned itself out, stories emerged about seemingly-otherworldly lone-survivors, including one made so feral by her long abandonment, she was called Rype, or “wild bird”. We remember the fleas and the rats, even her name, but we don’t remember everything. What if there were more to the stories of the past than we ever imagined? Byrdfyre Covenant is about the survivors the fates failed to claim.
Jayne Starwing is a new pen name for seasoned author Olivia M. Jacques (Women’s Fiction, The Madisons), who is also the co-author of The Lightbringers series (Fantasy Romance). Byrdfyre Covenant merges Dark Fantasy Romance and Speculative Historical Fiction and will appeal to fans of V.E. Schwab (The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue), Audrey Niffenegger (The Time Traveler’s Wife) and Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass).
Expect heart-pounding action, swoony slow-burn romance, twists and turns you won’t expect, and a chilling and heart-rending cliffhanger ending … because there’s always more to the story.
An early excerpt from the Byrdfyre series appears in Bewitched Blooms, a charity anthology organized by Briar Boleyn (Bloodwing Academy, Blood of a Fae).
The Lightbringers Book Two: July 17, 2025
***Special Pre-Order Price For a Limited Time***
Lark, a Fae princess long isolated in a tower for her own “safety” is in the wind, unsure of the future, ready to remake herself, determined never to be caged again…
Alasdair, an Alpha military captain sworn to protect the throne, has been resisting the pull of someone out of his class and reach for years, but now…
As some of the Lightbringers race from the royal island in the wake of all that transpired in Blood Iron and Bone, new challenges arise, new blood is spilled, and the attempted coup continues. All is not well in the land of Áithrim. Can the Lightbringers learn to trust one another in the wake of the Solstice Massacre, or will the past continue to keep them apart?
Fans of Holly Black, Sarah J. Maas, Rebecca Yarros, and Jennifer L. Armentrout will love this epic Fantasy Romance series featuring fated mates, found families, and chosen ones — Lightbringers — prophesied to break a darkness that threatens everything.
A Lightbringers prequel story entitled The Never Queen appears in Bewitched Blooms, a charity anthology organized by Briar Boleyn (Bloodwing Academy, Blood of a Fae).
The Madisons (A Standalone Series) Book Four: September 27, 2025
We’re not supposed to say it, but does motherhood kinda … suck?
Claire Madison’s doing great. Despite her hard-won rainbow baby being born just before everything shut down, she’s weathered the storm. She’s still got her dream job, she’s still married to her high-school sweetheart, she’s finally holding her boundaries when it comes to her meddling monster-in-law, she’s fine.
Sure, she can’t sleep, she’s afraid all the time, and her toddler is a troll, but she’s fine. That is, until she loses her job to a dang trad-wife from Utah.
As Claire scrabbles to figure out who she is in the aftermath, the only solution seems to be to reinvent herself. But who even is she? The pandemic was years ago, but she’s still processing. With the trad-wife as her guiding star, she embarks on a series of silo-brained, (undiagnosed) ADHD-fuelled efforts to carve out a new place for herself in what feels like a baffling, unrecognizable world. Results vary and cringe moments abound as Claire strives to be anyone but the “millennial pick-me” she fears she is at heart.
Miss Perfect Utah revisits the FMC from Cruel to be Kind (★★★★★ An Amazon Bestseller, reaching #1 in Women’s Humorous Fiction, #7 in Contemporary Women’s Fiction) in a hilarious, witty story about how difficult modern motherhood and marriage are in a digitally-driven world where miscommunication is easy. Written in a relatable, neurotic, introspective voice that mirrors the inner monologue of so many millennial moms, it will appeal to fans of Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, Beth O’Leary and Marian Keyes.
